Nelly Gets Arrested!!

The ‘Hot In Herre’ rapper was arrested yesterday morning by Tennessee police for possession of marijuana and meth. 

The month of April hasn’t started out too well for Nelly. Tennessee police stopped his bus because of a “failure to display a U.S. Department of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association sticker” according to a press release published by PEOPLE magazine.

PEOPLE reports that authorities smelled marijuana coming from the bus and when they searched the bus they found, “a plastic bag with five colored, crystal-type rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine; a “small amount” of marijuana; approximately 100 small Ziploc bags and “numerous” handguns, including a gold-plated 50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol”.

Nelly was then arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamines, which is a felony, as well as misdemeanour marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nelly’s lawyer released a statement saying, “Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee. “In fact, there had been 15-20 people that had access to the bus prior to the stop. Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband (MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy) was discovered during the routine search.” “We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered.”

Nelly and another man arrested at the time made bail and have since been released.

So, what does this mean for The Main Event Tour featuring the rapper, along with New Kids on the Block & TLC? No one knows, but Donnie Wahlberg of NKOTB had some fun at Nelly’s expense…
