COLOURBLIND

Meet Opie Hugues, he has protanopia, which affects his ability to see red and green colours properly, making him partially colour blind. Using a pair of EnChroma glasses he was able to see colours accurately for the very first time and it was understandably overwhelming. In the video below, watch his emotional reaction to seeing the colour in his daughter’s eyes for the first time.

Opie Hughes knew of the technology to help him with his colour blindness but just couldn’t afford them.

He told Inside Edition, “My girlfriend actually stumbled across them online and tagged me in a link while I was at work…”I was going to just instantly buy them, but then realized they would cost too much money. My sister ended up setting up a GoFundMe, which I knew about, but didn’t expect anything of.”

Hughes’ sister, Katherine Empey, gave the glasses to him for his birthday.
