It's Our Favourite Day of the Week... #PetThursday!!!

Are you looking to hang out with a new friend? WELL, you can now! You can adopt one of these four-legged friends from #SaveOurScruff.

If you haven’t heard, #SaveOurScruff is a non-profit organization in the GTA that helps rescue and re-home these pups for a furever home!

We were able to visit Simon & Garfunkel at #SaveOurScruff and they are the CUTEST boys we’ve ever met.

These doggies are so cute!! SIMON & GARFUNKEL are bonded buddies! They are super affectionate, cuddly and low-key. They like to go with the flow and are happy being by your side or on your lap. They love going for walks and benefit from getting some energy out. They are also happy being your jogging partner as both will run along side you with smiles on. If their records didn’t say that they were 12 years old, we wouldn’t even guess that as a possible age! They are happy go lucky dudes who will definitely brighten up the rest of your life.

And before we get to our other adoptables this week, Save Our Scruff is holding a charity Halloween doggy photoshoot from 11-3pm SATURDAY at Trinity Bellwoods.

PEPPER POTTS! This one year-old Maltese mix is a fiery ball of energy straight from Serbia! She is extremely friendly towards all people and dogs, and is slowly getting used to living with cats. She is great on a leash and loves to strut her stuff around Toronto, turning as many heads as possible, and pretty much never tires out. PEPPER is still working on her house training, but she is a very smart little lady and quick to pick up signals. She occasionally accepts treats for her good behaviour, but generally prefers frequent belly rubs and kisses. She loves to welcome you home with a little song and dance (seriously). PEPPER POTS hobbies include chasing squirrels, independent films, and romantic strolls in the city. She is just a tiny gal, and can make do with a smaller space, as long as she has some time to explore the wondrous outdoors each day. And of course PEPPER POTTS loves to snuggle up to you as much as possible.

BELLA is still kickin’ it was SOS and we can’t believe it??! LOOK AT HER! She is super loving to both dogs and humans! She is a little cautious of strangers at first but we told her that’s what block parents are for. She’s super social and wants to be everyones bestie, including squirrels.. yeah, mostly squirrels. She is awesome home alone and just chillz waiting for your return either in her crate or judging the Toronto hipsters through the window. She enjoys her independence at times whether it be window watching or just telling that one dog that is too clingy (you all know that dog) to GTFO. She loves walking and will run circles around a big play space. She’s super obedient, loyal to her owner and is ready to have the best Friday ever.

Meet our second doggy from our first ever rescue from INDIA! This is NILI! She has settled into life very quickly and is a curious and loving pup! She is only 5 months old and is a mutt. She will probably grow to be medium-large sized (50-70lbs). She currently has high energy and is very open to meeting new people and giving and receiving affection. She is great with new people including children and is dog and cat social. She will need ALL basic training including housetraining. She loves to run and play and needs physical activity in order to be calmer in the home. A backyard for her to play in would be awesome but is not required if her furever family is active. She’d love a home with kids or a doggy to play with. She likes having things going on around her so yes your chaotic morning school routine will be perfect for her.

Ready to be a foster?! Meet KYA! She is looking for a new foster and/or adoptive home. KYA came to us from Florida for her second chance. She spent a week at doggy training to help with her socialization and has been doing very well in foster care. Due to no fault of her own (foster is in between moves) she needs to be relocated in order to spread move love and affection to others in need! She will rescue YOU by giving an unlimited amount of slobbery kisses and by laying on you at all times of the day. She is still in the process of understanding herself and others, and is sometimes picky on who she hangs out with. So for every 10 dogs/humans she may meet, she may growl at 1. She responds to correction well and is looking for someone who continue her training! She has made huge steps forward and we need someone who is able to provide her with stability in order to continue. She is very sweet and other than working on socialization, she gets an A+ in that she sleeps through the night in her crate, has lots of love and energy to give, is on 24-7 Squirrel patrol, and loves tummy rubs 4-ever!

Want a cat that looks like a dog? RUFFLES is your boy! He has all the fun-loving, companionship of a dog but is also super chill, low-maintainence and ready for your lap (or comfiest chair). He’s easy going and is happiest laying next to you or going for a short walk. The best home for him would be somewhere low-key, with someone that wants company around the house. He is funny and loves attention. He is cat and dog friendly, as long as they are as mellow as him. He would probably prefer life as the only dog but we can definitely set up a meet and greet with another pet if you have one! He is hypoallergenic, doesn’t shed and is just supa cool.

Here’s a PUPDATE on our little friends that found a new home!

PUPDATE: ZEUS has been adopted and is now sleeping soundly in his furever home! Dude, is there anything left to dream about?!

PUPDATE: Our girl TILDA has gone to her forever home! We are so happy that she found the perfect home ? thanks @campsk9 for helping with her training/fears and making her happy!!

PUPDATE: SCRUFF PICKUP!! WILEE has been adopted and was picked up today by his new familia! He has been renamed BODHI!

PUPDATE: Happy one-year adoption anniversary to CHEETOS! “Cheetos first few months (now Rowdy) were tough and we honestly really struggled. He had fairly serious separation anxiety and major issues with his leash, laying flat on the sidewalk, yelping, howling and crying. Walking the half block from our building to the park was virtually impossible. It was stressful for him and heartbreaking for us.

Today, Rowdy happily settles in when we leave for work and while he still struggles on some walks, we have many more good walks than bad ones. We’ve also learned that Rowdy loves to do tricks. After picking up basic commands he’s learned to shake a paw, rollover and (his favourite) dance. He gets so excited seeing us cheer him on after he’s mastered a new move.
