Miguel paid tribute to the late David Bowie Monday night with a sparse, intimate cover of the singer’s classic track ‘Space Oddity.’

According to Rolling Stone, Miguel kept it simple by performing a few minutes of the song with the assistance of just an acoustic guitarist. After the mid-song break, he transitioned into an acoustic performance of his own single ‘Waves’, off of last year’s Wildheart.

Miguel previously told NME in October that ‘Space Oddity’ is the one song he wishes he had written. The singer performed the track in front of a 300-person crowd at Los Angeles club Bardot.
