Calvin Harris Went Full 'Mission Impossible' Trying to Get Rihanna's Vocals

You’ve probably heard Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s song ‘This Is What You Came For’. But what you might not know was that getting Rihanna’s vocals for this track was not an easy task.

Rihanna was so busy recording her own album she didn’t have time to record her part.

Until… one day in New York, she had a couple of hours off. Just enough time to record the vocals for Calvin.

Knowing this Calvin Harris flew to New York, stayed up until 4 in the morning waiting to hear from Rihanna’s engineer. He ended up falling asleep and he woke up to a text from her engineer saying that is was done and he had the hard drive for him in a brown bag.

If he didn’t get the vocals when he did, Calvin would’ve had to wait 2 more months until Rihanna was free again.

Thank god he went on this mission so we could all have this as our summer jam.
