Back in September when The Weeknd announced he was releasing new music, we were excited, but along with the announcement came shock…because he had cut his hair.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, The Weeknd gave a pretty simple reason: his locks messed with his sleeping.

He said, “I could only sleep on one side of my face… Now, the sleep is amazing. The shower is amazing, because I don’t have to spend two hours cleaning it. I didn’t know how much I wanted it until I did it.”

He went on to reveal that those around him tried to tell him that cutting his hair would be a huge mistake.

“It was a long time coming. It didn’t feel right anymore…I told everybody I was getting rid of it, and everybody — literally, unanimously — they were like, ‘No, don’t do it! That’s your whole thing, that’s you.’ And the way they said that, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m definitely cutting it now.”

Let’s not forget, he’s a grown man and can do what he want.

The Weeknd just announced phase one of his Starboy Legend of the Fall Tour. He’ll be joined by R&B sensation Bryson Tiller and rapper Lil Uzi Vert. Below are the dates.
