Edgar Allen Poe once wrote “Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore…” when we all fell in love with The Raven. William Shakespeare had many famous lines line “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players” The great Maya Angelou once had us in awe when she wrote “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” We’ll never forget when Mark Twain said “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” Those are just a few of the many world famous poets of all time that we can’t forget as we celebrate World Poetry Day.

The resident poet laureate of the Roz & Mocha Show is of course Damnit Maurie, or on days like today when we call him Maurie Angelou, has written such gems in the past like “Can I tickle your feet? You’re like the perfect piece of meat!” for Valentines day. Which went on to read “Now that I’m thin.. can you feed me just the skin”!

Or, how can we forget last years World Poetry Day masterpiece called “10 Minute Friend” about driving Roz to work, with such rhymes like: “As we turn the bend, i wish this would never end.. My moment with my 10 minute friend”.

One of our favourite days of the year, with world Poetry Day upon us it’s finally time for a new work of art from Damnit Maurie Maurie Angelou! This years poem is called “What I’d Like To Eat” with the epic opening line “Let me stick my hands in your pocket and get some change… I have none of my own, so I see how its kind of strange” #Gross!!
