Okay I am totally biased, I think Canada’s Wonderland is one of the best amusement parks in the world and tomorrow it officially opens for the 2017 season!

There are two new exciting attractions this year: Soaring Timbers and Muskoka Plunge.

According to the Canada’s Wonderland website:

Soaring Timbers:

New For 2017! Canada’s Wonderland will be adding to its arsenal of world-class thrill rides with Soaring Timbers. This unique ride experience will send guests spiraling through the sky on two massive rotating gondolas that swing riders through sweeping arcs while rotating 360 degrees.

  • Angled at 45°, Soaring Timbers swings 38 riders on two rotating gondolas which flip independently of each other on a centre axis.
  • Riders soar as high as 66 feet (20 m) while spinning and flipping in sweeping arcs.
  • Soaring Timbers is the first of its kind in North America!

Due to transportation delays from the ride manufacturer, Soaring Timbers will not be open on Sneak Preview Night and Opening Day.

Muskoka Plunge (opens May 27th):

Muskoka Plunge, a 60 ft. (18 m) tall waterslide complex featuring four speed slides, will kick-off the summer fun in Splash Works. Riders will feel the adrenaline rush when they step into an enclosed launch chamber and suddenly plummet into a high-speed free fall through S-curves and 360° loops at speeds of approximately 40 km/h.

  • Begin your ride in complete suspense while waiting in one of four “DrenalineDrop” launch capsules. The four launch capsules may drop altogether, sequentially one-at-a-time, or the crowd favourite; “roulette”. Who will drop first?
  • The four slides twist and turn for 300’ feet from a height of 60 feet (18.3 m). Each slide takes a different ride path to the bottom.
  • Muskoka Plunge uses the “DrenalineDrop” ride system – the first of its kind in Canada!

The amusement park will also celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday this year with a full lineup of entertainment throughout the season that includes a Light and Sound Spectacular, Free-Style Ski Aerials and much more!

Season passes are available for as low as $69.99 and prices will apparently go up on May 22nd.
