Do you think this an inappropriate picture for a teacher to be sharing on her personal Facebook page?

The woman in the photograph is Lydia Ferguson, a 39 year old teacher from England who quit her teaching job after she was suspended earlier this year for posting “provocative” and “sultry” selfies on her personal Facebook page.

The mother of three and teacher tells Heat Street magazine that she decided to leave her job because of the unwanted attention she’s been receiving ever since her photos were discovered on social media, “I just don’t want the stress of it any more”, she explains.

Ferguson didn’t have her privacy setting adjusted, so her pictures were public and open for all to see.

The photo above and below are the two pictures that the school took issues with.

After getting suspended earlier this year and then ultimately quitting, her students have rushed to their teacher’s defense, launching a petition called “Get Miss Ferguson Back”. Unfortunately, that petition (which was even signed by some parents) has been taken down. The reason is likely because Miss Ferguson isn’t interested in returning to that school, “I couldn’t go back. My family’s been through enough of it.”

Lydia Ferguson was a support teacher who worked with students with behavioral issues. Here are some of the comments Miss Ferguson’s students wrote about her:

-“There is nothing wrong with the photo at all.”
-“We think Miss looks lovely.”
-“She is a brilliant teacher”

-“She is there to help students who have problems like bullying and stuff.”

-“She does so much to help us and we’re so upset she’s been suspended.”

-“Not a single person thinks there is anything inappropriate about it.”

“All it was showing was a bit of leg.”

The school has confirmed that Lydia Ferguson is no longer employed.

Lydia Ferguson responded to a comment someone wrote on her Facebook photo saying they didn’t think her outfit was inappropriate, writing: “Thank you for that, I don’t think it’s seductive or inappropriate either.”

Ferguson says:
‘I’ve always stuck to a rule on FB and Insta that if my Grandad, bless his heart, would look at any of my pictures in disgust, then I would never post them.”
