Yes, the Labour Day long weekend marks the end of the summer for many students and back to normal routines for many adults, but as always this city is buzzing on a weekend.

FAN EXPO CANADA 2017!

This may be the MUST SEE event of the long weekend as gamers, comic, anime and TV fans will converge at the Toronto Metro Convention Centre for this year’s Fan Expo!

Don’t be alarmed if you’re walking the streets of Toronto and see SpiderMan, Batman, the Incredible Hulk and other animated characters as cosplay is a HUGE part of Fan Expo.

As you can see in the picture above, the cast of Student Bodies will be reuniting to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary (for more info, click HERE).

Celebrities will also be in town this year including, The cast of Stranger Things, Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead, Arrow’s Stephen Amell, Tim Curry, Matt Smith, Nathan Fillion, Famke Janssen & many more.

Friday: 10 am – 7 pm
Saturday: 10 am – 7 pm
Sunday 10 am – 5 pm

This is the last weekend for the CNE this year so make the most of it by heading down to Exhibition Grounds and take part in a Toronto summer tradition.

Also, make sure you stop by the KiSS 92.5 tent (located at the South East corner of BMO Field) and say hello to the KiSS Crew and enter to win some awesome prizes!

If you were a fan of Degrassi back in the day then this is literally a dream come true!

Pat Mastroianni (Joey Jeremiah), Stacie Mistysyn (Caitlin Ryan), Stefan Brogren (‘Snake’) and Kirstin Bourne (Tessa Campanelli) from the original series will be at the Royal Cinema for the Degrassi Schools Out Screening.

According to the Degrassi Tour Facebook page, the Friday screening and VIP bus tour are both sold out, but a second screening has been added for Sunday (ticket information here: https://www.universe.com/degrassi2)

Downsview Park Ribfest is back for a second year and will run from Friday, right through the holiday Monday.

There’s a lot more happening other than food, there’s entertainment like a midway with rides for the kids, a Kids Zone, live entertainment and music and a delicious rib eating contest!

The Hot & Spicy Food Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year down at Harbourfront Centre and trust me if you’ve never been you definitely need to check it out this year.

I went a few years ago and have been dying to go back to try out some of the incredibly flavourful foods from local and international cooks.

There’s a Red Hot Good Market this year (see schedule below), over 20 different food vendors, music and much more.

It’s a Toronto staple and is one festival you won’t soon forget!
