It was old pop vs new pop in the latest episode of Drop he Mic, starring the Backstreet Boys and Charlie Puth.

Nick Carter, the youngest member of BSB kicked off the rap battle, “There’s an old sayin’, you’re the dumbest in your youth.  Whoever said that, must’ve met Charlie Puth.  But he can’t be that dumb because he’s a decent song writer, but it’s almost like if Macklemore just magically got whiter.”  Nick continued, “I saw you on Youtube, you had me in tears.  You covered Adele and Adele covered her ears.”

Of course, Charlie had to come back from that, “Now I’m a bit confused because I’m probably young, but somebody please explain to me how Nick was the cute one.  It’s 2017, that sounds quite bizarre, you look like David Beckham if he lived in his car.  At one point you went solo, I know you were tryin’, but your songs just sounded like a German Sheppard dyin’.  100 million Backstreet fans can’t be wrong, but 100 million Backstreet fans can be moms, Nick!” Sorry Nick but, #haha

And the battle didn’t stop there …

Brian L: “Our fans are moms, and it’s not that bad.  The 90’s are crazy, Charlie, I could be your dad,” noooo he took it there!

Charlie in response, “I know in ’98 you were treated like God’s, yet 20 years later, you’re the king of the dad bod.  I heard you’re making bank now as Vegas headliners, but much how much is that wasted on A.J.’s ‘guyliner’?”

Kevin Richardson rapped, “You were signed by Ellen out of YouTube, does your contract say you have to look like her too?” Which ended with BSB singing, “Why won’t you go away?” along to the tune of ‘I Want It That Way’.

And before Charlie’s final rap, he couldn’t say much other than, “That’s not fair, you’re playing with my heartstrings because I’m mad, you’re for being mean to me, but I like that song.”  Charlie then ended the battle with, “Stop pretending you guys don’t want to be me, I know you did this show so your daughters could meet me.  Look at you two [Kevin and A.J.], I can’t hold back the laughter, you look like a photo of before and after.  Whose idea was a boy band of all Joey Fatones?”

After the battle, Drop The Mic hosts Method Man and Hailey Baldwin asked the audience who the winner is and Charlie was crowned champ.
