World-renowned scientist Stephen Hawking—who passed away from ALS on March 18—was laid to rest on Saturday, but not before giving one last (and totally beautiful) gift.

As thousands of people lined the streets outside of Hawking’s funeral, which took place in Cambridge, England, the city’s less fortunate headed to their local shelter to find a really cool surprise courtesy of the famed theoretical physicist.

According to Cambridge News, the Hawking family gave a financial donation large enough to fund a fancy Easter lunch to the Cambridge FoodCycle, a shelter that relies on donated and unused food to provide free meals to the homeless. The donation was enough to feed and give gifts to 50 people.

The group was so thankful, they dedicated the meal to Stephen Hawking. SO. SWEET.
