We’ve been patiently waiting for Drake to announce the deats for OVO Fest 2018, but now it seems that announcement may never come.

The 6 God just announced a North American tour with Migos—it’s cleverly called Aubrey & The Three Amigos—which will hit Toronto for two shows on August 10 and August 11. As any OVO megafan knows, OVO Fest usually falls on the August long weekend. Would Drake schedule a festival in Toronto within days of two other shows in the same city? We doubt it, but we’re not abandoning all hope just yet.

While we’re amped as f-ck about Drake’s tour with Migos, a year without OVO Fest descending on Toronto would be a weird year indeed. In keeping our fingers crossed for a week full of Drake in the six, we’ve compiled a collection of all our favourite moments from OVO Fests of years past.

1. When Eminem and Jay-Z performed as surprise guests

For the first ever OVO Fest, Drake locked down two of the biggest names in hip hop history: Eminem and Jay-Z. Eminem joined Drake to drop his verse from the massive song “Forever,” and Jay-Z hit the stage for a live performance of “Run This Town.” Needless to say, the rappers set the bar real high as far as guests go, and now, surprise performances are a signature hallmark of the Toronto music festival. Other stars who joined Drake at the 2010 inaugural event included the Bun B, Francis and the Lights, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Fabolous and Kardinal Offishall.

2. When Drake cost the Toronto Raptors $25,000 in fines

Everyone knows Drake is the global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors (a.k.a. the city’s NBA team), but whether or not Drake understands how his job works is debatable. In 2014, the rapper cost the team $25,000 in “tampering fines” by jokingly trying to recruit Kevin Durant to the team. The moment was pretty funny, but we’re hoping he’s since learned the rules.

3. When the stage became a life-sized replica of the CN tower

In what could possibly be the coolest stage ever, Drake hit the stage for his set in 2017 atop a life-size replica of the CN tower—a.k.a. Toronto’s largest tourist attraction—successfully recreating the iconic Views album cover. When he started singing “Free Smoke” from his album More Life, the crowd went freakin’ crazy.

4. When Rihanna joined Drake to perform “Too Good”

Because 1) we love Rihanna, 2) we love whenever Rihanna does anything with Drake, and 3) we were heartbroken to hear their friendship has fallen to the wayside.

5. When Cardi B performed “Bodak Yellow”

This was a truly surprising appearance considering Drake and Cardi had never worked together and that she was relatively new to the rap scene, with her single “Bodak Yellow” having only come out in June 2017. Having seen their chemistry, we are now dying for a Drake and Cardi collabo.

Drake—if you’re reading this, it’s not too late! We’ll buy tickets to pretty much anything you do (even if that means back-to-back performances). Just take our money already.
