Ariana Grande recently dropped another banger – it’s called ‘Imagine’ and honestly one of my favourite Ari songs out there!  Shortly after the release, fans from all over began to discover some clues that the song could actually be about Ariana’s late ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller.

Let’s check out the clues …

Clue #1

Mac had the word ‘Imagine’ tattooed on his inner bicep.  Twitter user by the name of ‘Garianamutuals’ tweeted, “Did you know that Mac Miller had a tattoo with the same name as Ariana Grande’s ‘Imagine’ song?

Clue #2

The lyrics in ‘Imagine’ are similar to Mac’s song ‘Cinderella.’

Ariana’s line: “Staying up all night, order me pad thai.  Quick, quick, quick, let’s go, kiss me and take off your clothes.”

Mac’s line: “I been picturing you takin’ off your clothes for me and when you hungry I can shut you up with stir fry.”

Clue #3

Whistle Notes

Apparently, fans believe the way Ariana does her whistle notes in ‘Imagine’ (2:45 mark) are the same kind of whistle notes she used when she collaborated with Mac back in 2013 for ‘The Way’ (3:14 mark).

Clue #4

The true meaning behind ‘Imagine.’

When asked by a fan on Twitter what the song is about, Ariana tweeted back, “A simple, beautiful love that is now (and forever) unattainable.”

In a previous tweeted, Ariana writes, “A lot of this album mourns fails, yet important beautiful relationships in my life (as well as celebrates growth / exploring new independence), but for those of you asking about Imagine: I would say if ‘Thank U, Next’ = acceptance … ‘Imagine’ = denial.  Hope that makes sense.”
