So what exactly does JC’s tweet have to do with Ariana? Check out the video for yourself below.  Seems as though both Ari AND Nick Minaj had some technical difficulty while on stage at Coachella.

According to Variety, “It created an especially awkward scene for Minaj, who seemed to lose audio in both ear pieces before hitting the stage for “Side to Side” and “Bang Bang.” Grande continued to sing and rally behind Minaj, who appeared at a loss for words.  The Coachella Music and Arts Festival is set in the Palm Springs desert in Southern California, where winds and dust can wreak havoc on performers and equipment. Earlier in the night, newcomer Lizzo powered through horrific sound problems during her set.”

Ariana and Nicki were scheduled to perform two of their collaborations – ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘Side to Side.’  It was reported that Nicki unfortunately lost sound during the time she was live on stage.  As XXLMag points out, “In video captured by a fan in the audience, you can see Ariana trying to hype Nicki and fill in with ad-libs as much as she could, but it was clear that Nicki was unable to properly hear the beat and the background vocals she needed to rap over.”

 

Having technical issues during a live show is never fun however, I did laugh when Ariana belted out, “We can’t hear anything!”
