People have been looking forward to Woodstock 50 for a long time. So much so that it was heartbreaking to read a statement saying that, out of nowhere, the famous festival to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock would be cancelled. With some of the biggest acts in the world already signed up; like Jay-Z, Chance the Rapper, Black Keys, Halsey, Miley Cyrus and the amount of hype already put towards it happening this August, it would be terrible news for fans.

However, you can breathe a sigh of relief (for now). The original scare was caused by their largest investor pulling out his support of the festival. The investor released a statement saying; “Despite our tremendous investment of time, effort and commitment, we don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock brand name…”

That made a lot of fans jump to the conclusion that it was cancelled. Until the Woodstock 50 organizers jumped in to say; “Although our financial partner is withdrawing, we will of course be continuing with the planning of the festival and intend to bring on new partners.”

So far, they haven’t announced a new partner, but it seems promising that the festival will still go on as planned.

But it does seem to feel a little familiar…
