Sending a positive message to her fans, and honouring those who are working nonstop to help fight COVID-19, Mariah Carey recorded a rare performance from the inside of her home, singing her 1993 hit, Hero.

At the beginning of the video, Mariah says,

“I’m just doing my best to try and celebrate with you this Easter, this Holy Week.  Quite the unique time in history, a time that doesn’t allow us to be together in person and be festive and worship with one another. But I’m grateful that so many of us are staying home, staying safe and in doing so, keeping each other safe.  We are united in this effort and in this moment.  I want to take this time to acknowledge and honour the sacrifices of those who work every day, taking care of their communities in this time of need and uncertainty.  The heroes who are making our daily lives possible.  Let’s continue to support them and each other.”

In addition, Mariah is also celebrating the 15th anniversary of her comeback album, The Emancipation of Mimi.

The album became the best-selling album of 2005, it sold six million copies in the U.S. and earned Mariah 10 Grammy nominations.  The album features 14 tracks including, ‘We Belong Together,’ which became the song of the decade, ‘It’s Like That’ and ‘Say Something.”
