AJA Releases New Single 'Red Button'

16-year old Toronto-based artist AJA is May’s One to Watch artist, and Red Button is her latest track.

Red Button is AJA’s third release, and the follow up to NERVE and Who’s Gonna Love You.  AJA was asked how Red Button differs from her previously released tracks, and she shares, “I think Red Button has a different sound and is a bit more edgy. It allows me to show my emotional/ angry side.”

AJA explains, “When someone breaks your heart, I mean really breaks your heart, it’s easy to hit the Red Button and decline their call. I wrote Red Button with Jimmy McGormam. It was one of those collaborations that happened so organic yet so fitting. Jimmy already had the concept for the song but was looking for the right singer for it. We were introduced by a mutual friend Kurt. I’m guessing I was the right singer.”

“Red Button Is about being empowered enough to walk away from something or someone that isn’t good for you. Being able to decline their calls even if you are brokenhearted. I hope my fans can feel the same as I do and avoid toxic situations. We all have them,” AJA says when asked what Red Button means to her.

And if you’re wondering what the fans can expect from AJA in 2021, she reveals, “Lots of new music! I’ve been writing a lot with some incredible writers and producers.”
