Who run the world? GIRLS! For the first time in VMA history, two female collaborations are nominated for video for the year – Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘WAP’ and Doja Cat and SZA’s ‘Kiss Me More.’

 

 

 

Thanks to Billboard, below are the times where a collaboration of two or more female artists were nominated for video of the year at the VMAs.

 

1998: “The Boy Is Mine,” Brandy & Monica

 

 

 

 

2001: “Lady Marmalade,” Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, Mýa & P!nk (featuring Missy Elliott)

According to Billboard, “This is the only all-female collab to win in this category to date.”

 

 

 

 

2010: “Telephone,” Beyoncé featuring Lady Gaga

 

 

2014: “Fancy,” Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX

 

 

2020: “Rain on Me,” Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande

 

 

 

The MTV VMAs will go live from the Barclays Center in New York on Sept. 12 at 8 p.m.
