And while this is a first for the Oscars, it isn’t a first for other award shows that have had an-female hosting team:

Golden Globes: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler – they co-hosted the show four times (2013-15, 2021).

Primetime Emmys: Ellen DeGeneres and Patricia Richardson – co-hosted the 1994 Primetime Emmys.  Ellen then returned to host the show solo in 2001 and 2005.

Daytime Emmys: Leeza Gibbons and Deidre Hall co-hosted the 1995 Daytime Emmys.  The 2020 Daytime Emmys were co-hosted by the hosts of the The Talk – Carrie Ann Inaba, Eve, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Marie Osmond.

Latin Grammys: Jacqueline Bracamontes and Roselyn Sánchez co-hosted the 2015 show.

CMA Awards: Carrie Underwood hosted in 2019, with “special guest” co-hosts Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton.

CMT Music Awards: Sisters Barbara, Louise and Irlene Mandrell co-hosted the 1989 show.  In 2015, Sportscaster and TV personality Erin Andrews and actress Brittany Snow co-hosted together.
