It was recently announced that Pink will be awarded with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year’s MTV VMAs and well, she had to shut down a Twitter troll who didn’t exactly agree with MTVs choice and along the way, confirmed she and Christina Aguilera are officially BEEF FREE!

It all began when someone called the visual for ‘Lady Marmalade’ (a song that featured Christina along with Mya & Lil’ Kim back in 2001) the only “relevant” music video of Pink’s career #SoNOTCool

Pink then responded with, “Want to point out an awful new phenomenon of the last 10’years. We can no longer be happy for each other. I [love] Xtina, we’ve made amends….” #HandClap

Pink continued, “Music brings us all together. The best part of music is- there’s room for everyone to win at the same time. Don’t be what’s wrong w/da world.”

And if that wasn’t bad enough, Pink then had to address the mixed reaction she’s been receiving since news broke that she would be awarded the ceremony’s top honour, “Let’s be an example of inclusion and celebration. You don’t have to like me at all, I’m ok with that. Just be a decent person.” 

As of right now, Christina as yet to comment on Pink’s claims and in case you didn’t know, their “apparent beef’ began while recording ‘Lady Marmalade’.  In a VH1 Behind the Music special that was released in 2009, Pink explained how the rivalry went down:

“[Label executive] Ron Fair walked in.  He didn’t say hi to any of us and said, ‘What’s the high part? What’s the most singing part? Christina’s going to take that part. And I stood up, and I said ‘Hi. How are you? So nice of you to introduce yourself. I’m Pink. She will not be taking that part. I think that’s what the f–king meeting’s about.'”

 

 

Pink and Christina eventually crossed paths when Pink appeared as a guest coach on The Voice, to which she told ET the experience was “Full Circle.”

Pink says, “Her and I have had history and it hasn’t always been wonderful.  I think it just took us 15 years and I feel like there was true love and it felt really good.”
