Selena wrote, “This was beautiful. I’m so happy for you.  You always continue to [be] bold and real. I wish more people were like you. Love you.”  Selena posted this comment on a teaser post for Demi’s new documentary, which can be viewed on YouTube.

Demi later responded with, “Thank you so much, this means the world to me and more.  Love you too.”

Fans also took notice that both began to follow one another on Instagram again and the sweet part, over the summer both showed their support for each other’s new music all on social media.

Selena and Demi, who were once Disney stars, met on set of Barney and Friends back in 2002.   For almost a decade they were attached to the hip and soon after, they drifted apart.  Back in 2014, Selena told Seventeen Magazine, “I’ve known her since we were 7 — and we did fall apart for a while.  She was going through things and I was so young and it was confusing — I processed it saying, ‘OK, I don’t understand what she’s going through so I’m just going to do this.’ And I don’t think it was fair, and I’m so happy that I have her back in my life now.”

Sadly enough, in 2010 when a fan asked Demi how Selena was doing, Demi responded with, “Ask Taylor [Swift].”  Word has it, Demi was upset when Selena became ‘best friends’ with Taylor and became apart of the ‘Taylor Swift squad’.

Then in 2014, Demi unfollowed Selena on Twitter for unknown reasons and when asked by Andy Cohen about their friendship issues, Selena says, “People change and people grow apart.”

Despite their issues, Selena and Demi still continued to support each other.  Demi told Live From MTV in May of 2013, “We’ve had periods of time where we grew apart and we just didn’t really talk but now we’re in a place where I think we realized that life is so short and that when you have people in your life that you love so much, then you should always be around them.”  When Selena received her kidney trasnplant earlier this year, Demi raved to PEOPLE about Selena, “I think that she is a very strong woman.  I’m very happy and proud of her.”

The pair recently reunited on Oct. 14 at the Somos Una Voz benefit concert to raise money for those affected by the disasters in Mexico, the Caribbean and Puerto Rico.
