Now let’s move on to this CUTIESSSS, whose’s going to be the lucky fella that gets to give one of these dogs a FURREVERR home??

BRANDI is looking for a warm home to spend this Christmas season. Just arriving from Mexico, she’s getting her first taste of winter and wants a furever home to share her first snowfall with. She is just over a year old and is a Mexican mutt! She is medium sized with medium energy. She can be very puppy like when she’s active and playing but also calm when she needs to (like when she comes to stay with you at the office). Her favourite thing is meeting new Canadians, dogs or people, and making new besties to tell her Mexican PayPals about. She is potty trained, crate trained and is learning basic commands. She is great with other animals and is happy and appreciative of any love you will give her. She is being fostered in Toronto!

ROMEO & TURBO are up for ADOPTION. Here is a day in a life with these fluff balls “These guys are early risers (and so am I!) so when my alarm goes off at 6am they’re usually awake in bed with me (I know, I know, but you say no to those faces!). Turbo will jump on my chest for a snuggle, while Romeo gets a bit huffy about going outside ASAP. I take them downstairs for an run out to the bathroom in the backyard while I prepare their breakfast for them. I sip coffee while they eat and then we go for a quick walk around the block (10 minutes) – word of warning, if you decide to hesitate on taking them on the walk they will stare you down!

They usually hang out while I get ready for work and take off around 8am. If I know there’s no one around to let them out midday, I do use something called a “belly band” because they have tiny bladders and it can be a long day. According to my neighbours, they’re pretty chill all day and they don’t hear them… when I work from home they definitely just pass out on the couch next to me.

I get home around 5:30 or 6pm and it’s EXCITING! They are so happy to have me back at home and we generally go for a walk to the dog park where they wander around (generally getting lots of attention from people and ignoring the dogs). Then it’s back home for dinner and cuddles on the couch”.

This itty pitty girl just took over toronto. Welcome to SOPHIE’S world. For only a two year old, this Yorkie has claimed the universe and is positive that it revolves around her. Like grew up with a silver q-tip or whatever that saying is. SOPHIE is high-class in that she needs 5 hair dressers around her at all times and a tummy rubber (preferably a cute boy) in paws length always. So yes, she is very much into attention but is also affectionate herself. She likes to be with or around you because that ensures more belly rubs. If you aren’t into it she will force it upon you by continuously pawing at you with her eyes fixated on your soul. She is human oriented and doesn’t put up with much else. In our care, she hasn’t had much interaction with other dogs but barks from a far and tells her butler to tell them to walk on the other side of the street. She does the same with kids, I donno, something to do with being the ‘only important small thing in the world’. She is super smart and learns tricks easily but probably because she likes being spoiled. She needs some leash work as she does bark but as we said she is smart and willing to please. She will travel where ever you want to go but is also satisfied at home alone (no other animals preferred). She may respond to your arrival home with a hair flip and a “wow you really left me alone that long” look. She is happiest laying next to you, on a walk in a quite park or gettin’ a pedicure and her nails did. She’s definitely a companion dog for that special someone looking for some company. She’s currently living it up in Toronto if you’d like to meet her. Remember that she will need help with her ‘me’ complex and socialization. She is a barker and not kid or cat friendly! She responds to correction and we would like to find a home where this behaviour is not reinforced. She has the potential to love everything! She loves humans and hopes your lap is just what she is lookin’ for fo lyfffeeeee.

TILEC says hello and wants everyone to know he is up for adoption! He is a 2 year old Mastiff mix who is about 700lbs of dog and also super low energy and chill. TILEC settled into life in Toronto quite gracefully — and by that we mean legs up on the hardwood looking for a good rub down. He can be a apartment or large home dog but does enjoy his time outside, whether it be on walks or in a backyard. He is house trained and good on a leash! He is great at home alone (lounges) and also loves when you’re around so he can be a lap dog. He likes to play with people but otherwise likes to rest. He loves to run but is currently awaiting an x-ray on Dec 10th due to an irritated knee (TBA). He is dog social and has a lot of patience but prefers a more relaxed home environment. So preferably not adding him to the mix with a rambunctious other dog and instead another laid back dude like himself. Also keep in mind that although he is good on a leash he is strong like bull! He came to us from Montreal and is looking to find a furever place here in the GTA.

Meet GUS! This chihuahua.. K just making sure you’re listening.. This Saint Bernard is 8 years old and is supppppppa chill. He has pretty low energy and can be found laying in the kitchen, living room or anywhere his large body can fit. He is very affectionate but all independent. He can be left alone with no problems or beside you looking for love when you’re around. He is mature, well socialized and easy going. New house guests, doggy friends on a walk — you name it and he will be kind to them. He walks very well on a leash, is potty trained and knows basic commands. He is not very playful and is more the quite observer. Blab all your troubles to GUS and he will keep your secrets furever. He is also likely kid and cat social as we have yet to find anything he dislikes. He is currently in Toronto looking for a furever home.

Meet MILLER LITE! After being surrendered, this dude spent some time in rehab to work on his fearfulness. After a few months, some training and a LOT of fetch to break him out of his shell, he is ready for ADOPTION. He has adjusted very well to his foster home. He is patient and eager for your arrival and will greet you at the door with his ball and wagging tail. He is a 5 year old Pug/Jack Russell/Shepherd mix! He has medium energy and is obsessed with fetch. Like, obsessed. He would love to have space to chase a ball whether its at a nearby park or right in his own backyard. He likes the quieter neighbourhoods and may be made for a rural environment. He is potty trained, crate trained, heels like a champ and knows basic commands. He is fearful of strangers but now it takes him about 10 minutes to warm up versus the 2 weeks it took him when we first got him. He is dog and cat social. He likes space at times and wants to be able to warm up to you in a calm environment. He is not kid social. He needs gentle boundaries and guidance. He benefits from regular play time so get used to slobbery toys on your lap (where he continues to chew them). He is ready for a furever family, someone he can trust and that can continue his training.

“Our story began when our last dog passed away. Our home furless, quiet and empty. We wanted some time before getting another dog which we knew was inevitable but were not sure which route to go. We didn’t want a puppy as there are so many older homeless dogs. So we decided RESCUE it was. Our thoughts were maybe we should try fostering instead of adopting at first, which is when we saw “in need of a foster” for MANCHA. A 2 year old street dog from Mexico. At the time SOS was looking for a foster to take her as she was coming up from Mexico so we decided YES, lets try. Well.. love at first sight. She just took hold of our hearts and never let go. As we were walking Mancha to our car as “fosters” my daughter says to me “you do know we’re keeping her”. Yes I did. Mancha now Luna is awesome. Fit right into our home and our lives. Loved everyone. Loved us even more. We just couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have her. So “foster fail”, we adopted her. The next few months were amazing but then Luna loved us a little to much. She guarded all of us. We thought.. we can’t live like this. After a lot of calls with SOS and talks with trainers we decided to take her to obedience classes. What a difference that made!! Luna just needed to know that she did not have to take care of us, we would take care of her. We trained her with BRB K9 (Ancaster). What an amazing experience that was. They trained me to train her. What an amazing family member she is now. We have compliments on how well behaved she is. We are actually thinking of training her now as a therapy dog. She is such a pleasure to have around. We can take her pretty well anywhere and have her use her manners. Loves to please us with tricks and sillyness. She has actually learned to play with other dogs instead of standing back and watching. The first time I saw her try to play I had tears thinking “This is a happy dog”! We are so thankful to Save Our Scruff for bringing Luna into our lives. Our One Year anniversary just passed and we can not imagine life without Luna (except maybe her hair – big shedder). Thank you SOS”

NILI is in her furever home! “Nili has truly come out of her shell and is very much a puppy now!She is very playful and loves snuggles. She can also be very rambunctious and getting herself into trouble. She likes corners of things (rugs, couches, tables, etc.) She adjusted to living with us very quickly. We absolutely love her. The whole family has visited a lot since we got her so she gets plenty of love and attention. Thank you so much!!”
