Meet the Pups That Will Be At The 'SOS' Adoption Event This Weekend!!!

We’re excited to share with you guys this amazing adoption event this weekend!!! Not only can you meet these adorable pups but it’s your lucky day, because you might be able to become their FUR-ever home!

If you still haven’t heard, #SAVEOURSCRUFF is a non-profit GTA based organization that helps rescue and re-home dogs from all around the world. This Saturday from 12-2pm come out to Unleashed in the City, 45 Ossington for your chance to meet these cuties!

These are some of the beauties that are going to be at the event this Saturday.

Are you looking for two marshmallow’s to cuddle up to? WELL, here’s Turbo & Romeo they are loveable seniors at the age of 9 and 10. They are a BONDED pair meaning they MUST find a home together. Their perfect home would be with someone who is retired that is looking for low energy companions. They like to get up for morning coffee, go check on the neighbourhood (2 20 min walks per day) and then come home and nap (cuddles preferred). They are dog social (enjoy the dog park) and are good with older kids!

Who likes to Netflix and Cuddle? Our buddy JAKE does! He’s having a handsome day and wanted to share his look with all of you. This boy is up for ADOPTION!! With signs of past abuse (both physically and mentally) SOS is determined to find this guy the love her deserves. JAKE has some separation anxiety but is working very hard to be happy and comfortable home alone. He has improved dramatically since starting in foster and we think it has been beneficial for him to be home with another calm dog just like himself. He is slow to warm up with dogs but once he feels safe he will cuddle right up with them. Fast, quick, hyper movements startle him which is why he has hesitation when meeting high-energy dogs or even kids.

This 1 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix is a recent arrival from Texas! Meet LAYLANI! This 1 year old LAYLANI is very fearful of the world around her and is excited to find the perfect home that she can feel comfortable. She is great in the apartment. She is very gentle and is a great companion dog. She stares at you with her expressive eyes and gentle soul and then will move closer to you, hopefully ending up just beside your feet. This is where she feels safe. Her stress starts when she leaves the house. Downtown Toronto is kind of hectic for her and we are looking to settle her into a calmer environment. A more rural area or tucked away street would be ideal for her adjustment period. She will although need support and a patient furever home to help build her confidence and help her feel happy in these types of environments. The last thing we want to do is reinforce her fears. We really want to open her up to the beauty of being rescued.
LAYLANI is also able to left alone at home (although likes being with you), she is crate trained and does not make a sound (other then the odd yawn). She is potty trained and walks very timidly on a leash. She is dog social and may benefit from a doggy role model who can show her how fun the world is! She has been introduced in parks and found happiness in making friends. She has not been tested with cats but she is calm and doesn’t seem to have a prey drive. She is very gentle and shown to be good with kids but we would prefer older children.

ALIZE is getting extra comfortable and possibly watching Netflix ALLLLLL day. This beautiful girl is a 8 year old Beagle/Walker Hound mix! She comes to us from Toronto and is excited to find her furever home! She has settled into routine very well. Most of the time she has low energy level but also benefits from about 2-3 walks a day. She loves to be your errand companion but is also okay being left alone. She likes the company of others and will sit in her doggy bed right next to you or on the couch if she is invited. She is an easy apartment dog as she loves to lounge around. She barks at the doorbell but is otherwise quite (thus far). She is super affectionate and loves a good snuggle or belly rub. Her fosters call her ‘worm’ because she will squirms all over the place hoping to find a place where you might notice her and give her lots of attention. She is sometimes stubborn on walks — where her hound intincts kick in and she follows her nose. She does show tendencies of being an alpha, so a dominant owner is important. She’s not too big or strong so correction is not difficult. She knows basic commands and is also potty trained and crate trained. She is curious about other dogs but also dominant.

Kya is amazing she arrived from Florida! She is a 9 year-old Fox Terrier. She is extremely quiet and low maintenance. She loves her walks and loves sleeping in her crate. She has been very friendly with other dogs (except ones who aren’t friendly with her, but she displays clear warning signs early on and we can easily move her away without incident or growls). We have been taking her to the dog parks where she runs off leash and comes back when called. She is either disinterested in most dogs or greets others nicely off leash. She lets puppies jump all over her! It’s mostly aggressive female dogs that sometimes get her hair to stand up when greeting her. She’s also really great at her training classes!

THUMBELINA is our newest sweet sweet soul from Texas! She was hit by a car at an unknown period of time in her life and at this time does not use her back right leg. She was previously in a doggy wheelchair but prefers hopping around, using her other three legs. This adjustment also comes from her medical advances, as she has progressed with her leg while at a rescue prior to SOS. This girl is super fun and excited about her second chance. She is a 6 month old ball of energy and is a Chihuahua mix! She is under 10lbs and is pocket sized! She loves meeting new friends and as a puppy.. hardly discriminates. Actually she does LOVE kids and is a little intimidated by cats (WHO ISNT AM I RIGHT?!). She is highly treat oriented and is learning basic commands.

GASTON has been adopted and looks cuter then ever snuggling up in his furever home! We can tell he’s getting comfortable with some of his new toys.

NASSAU is loving her new furever home! Move over Kim K, it seems like we have a new selfie queen in town!
