Gwen Stefani Opens Up About Her Divorce To Gavin Rossdale

‘The Voice’ judge spoke openly with Carson Daly on his AMP Radio show about her divorce and whether her new song ‘Used To Love You’ has anything to do with him.

During the interview she said, “My life basically blew up in my face and so I’m in this new life and it’s pretty awesome, I have to say. Everything just feels new. I just feel inspired. I don’t know how else to describe it.”

She added, “I couldn’t write. It just wasn’t happening and I was so insecure about it and then it just opened up. This channel just opened up.”

She also spoke about how difficult things got for her, “I don’t have anything to hide. Everybody knows that I was married forever and now I’m not. So, could you imagine what my life is like right now? It’s crazy! I ended up going into the studio. On the way to the studio, that first time, I didn’t want to go. I wanted to be in my bed, crying. And I did cry all the way down Santa Monica. ‘What am I doing? Why am I doing this?’”

The two announced their plans to divorce back in August, effectively ending their marriage after 13 years.

In a separate interview with 103.7 KVIL’s Leigh Ann & Courtney, Gwen opened up about her new beau Blake Shelton, saying, “He’s a pretty rad guy, I have to say that.”

She also spoke about how he (and other close friends), helped her through her divorce, “There’s been loads of people that have helped me with this tragedy,” Stefani said. “There’s definitely key people that have pointed me into the right direction. Blake really helped me. [And] not to change the subject, but it’s kinda on the same subject, Pharrell was literally like a guardian angel.”
