Beyoncé shook the globe when she dropped her Netflix film, Homecoming, which follows her history making Coachella performance from last year. Simultaneously, she released the collection as a ‘live album’ as well.

However, you missed out if you were one of the people that said “It’s just a bunch of her old songs re-released, why would I buy that?” The album also includes a bonus track that’s never been released before, called “Before I Let Go”.

The track is a cover of a song previously recorded by Maze & Frankie Beverly. A song with an immense amount of impact that has been an important presence in African-American culture for almost 40 years. It was released in 1981, the same year Beyoncé was born; so it’s clear that she’s lived with this song and it’s message for her whole life and the impact comes across clear in her version as well.
