Not only did we get a new single from Katy Perry, but she has finally revealed the title of her next album AND the release date- save the date because Smile is dropping on August 14th!

To reveal the album’s title, Katy had fans play a game – they had to tweet to pop virtual balloons in order to uncover the album’s title.

Katy shared on Instagram, “I wrote the title track from the album when I was coming through one of the darkest periods of my life and had lost my smile. This whole album is my journey towards the light – with stories of resilience, hope, and love.”

Talking about the album’s title track, in a press release Katy shares, “I wrote this song when I was coming through one of the darkest periods of my life.  When I listen to it now, it’s a great reminder that I made it through. It’s three minutes of energizing hopefulness.”

‘Smile’ is the follow-up album to Witness, which was released back in 2017.
