Introducing women in FIFA 2016!!!! Sorry men, it’s time for you to be subbed out!!! 

The fact that FIFA is adding 12 Women’s National Teams to the new 2016 version of the game for the first time ever is incredible!!!! BUT what is even more incredible, is that our very own Christine Sinclair will be featured on the COVER of the Canadian FIFA ’16 version!!

Sinclair, from Burnaby, B.C,  will be joined on the cover by Lionel Messi. Sinclair made a statement about FIFA’s choice to include women in the game…

“This year’s World Cup showcased the unbelievable talent and skill in women’s soccer. I’m thrilled that EA Sports is celebrating female athletes in ‘FIFA 16.’ To be featured in the game and to promote women’s soccer with Alex is really special and another exciting step for women in sports.”

Alex Morgan will be featured on the American cover of the game along with Messi as well. FIFA has said that the women’s teams will be able to play against each other “exclusively” and David Pekush, senior manager of North America marketing for EA sports said…

“As soon as we knew women’s national teams were joining ‘FIFA 16,’ we immediately recognized that Christine and Alex would be the perfect cover athletes based on their accomplishments and what they represent for their respective countries and the sport of women’s soccer.”
