Thursday Cuddle Sessions with SAVE OUR SCRUFF Pups!!!!!

If the picture of those two pups doesn’t make you go, “AWWWW” then hopefully the rest of these cutie pies up for adoption from Save Our Scruff will!!! For those who are not aware, Save Our Scruff is an organization which focuses on the rescue and rehoming of dogs and puppies!!!

BUT what do we love more then seeing which dogs are up for adoption?!?! The SUCCESS stories!!!

BANDIT now ISLA loves being home!! She’s really taken to the house life and loves being with her family. She was found tied to a shack in the Dominican, this looks better on her.

SHEENA has been adopted and is now home!! Thank-you @psychdocduo for your AMAZING commitment as a long-term foster, while this beauty found a home that was suited for HER. Happy beginnings!

What are the odds that we ran into JENNY ON THE BLOCK…. In our block. HA. She’s been adopted and is now in her furever home! She has adjusted well and has been renamed SCOUT! Now she just has to adjust to the flash YAY FOR HAPPY ENDINGS!

Screw When Harry met Sally, we’re into When Kevin Bacon met Amy “When I first found out about fostering it sounded like a win-win situation; helping out a pup in need while also gaining a canine companion. I signed up with SOS and soon there after I hit the jackpot when Kevin Bacon showed up at my door one night. As soon as he ran out of the car to greet me, it was puppy love at first sight. Not only was he an especially cute dog but he was so sweet, friendly, and affectionate. He picked-up new tricks like a dog genius and was even leash trained in 3 days. It was very rewarding to see Kevin learn these skills so quickly, and his unconditional love made for an easy and quickly established bond. What completely slipped my mind, was having to say goodbye to my new puppy pal, but helping him find the perfect fur-ever home became a heart-warming part of the journey. It took a little while, but we found the perfect match for him, and his family is sweet enough to send me email updates and schedule visits whenever they are in town. Kevin Bacon will always be my special poochie pal heart emoticon” A SOS match made in heaven doesn’t ONLY represent a pup and adoptive parent! Here’s Amy and KB when they met up recently! Open adoption is where it’s at for these two!

ADOPTED! Meet RAYNA is the sister of Richie and Rena. She was also rescued from a kill list in a Texas shelter. She had interest FAST and therefore wasn’t posted up for adoption because she didn’t need any help! “Reyna’s adjustment has been wonderful. She is great with my two children. My wife, the kids, and I love her. She is in High Park three or four times a day” A happy ending for all three of these gorgeous siblings! A big shout out to Carly for finding, pulling, boarding, transporting and being super involved in the adoption process. This girl has an amazing heart.

All of these adorable dogs have found a home, but there are still so many that need a loving family to rescue them. Lets meet some of these cuties that still need a home.

Just in time for summer (2 months late) meet POPSICLE. This chocolate lab/husky mix just arrived from Northern Quebec and may be the cutest thing we’ve seen since we posted our last dog. This guy is 5 months old and sure acts like it. He is in complete puppy mode, ready for some training! He likes to chewbut only on your favourite things, and also needs help with potty training. He is very sweet, happy and is learning on the regular. He loves meeting new friends whether it’s humans or doggies — although he is a little timid of big dogs at the moment (“why are you so big and I am so small?!”). He has high energy spurts but also needs about 5 good naps a day to re-energize. POPSICLE would love a home where there is lots of room for him to grow and play. He will be a full sized lab in no time! He LOVES adventures, exercise, running and being outside. A backyard for him to run around in and lots of walks will be extra awesome for this little guy! He is pretty adaptable at this moment in time but will need a home where there is someone available to attend to his puppy needs! If that is you, fill out an adoption application on our website! RACHEL GREEN is ready for YOU! She is a 2 year old Coonhound, weighing in at 45lbs! She has medium energy — enjoying her time relaxing at home but also liking to play, especially with other dogs! She is super gentle and friendly, and is good with everything! She really loves having furry siblings as her foster brothers have really helped her adjust to her new life in Toronto! She actually NEEDS a home with at least one other dog. Like common, did Rachel Green from Friends ever want to be alone? NO. She’s very adaptable — being good on walks, in the pet store, at a friends house, being at home with her puppy friends. If you need a dog, cat, or kid friendly dog — she is your girl!! What do you get when you have a founder who is very unfamiliar with art references?! A dog with one ear named… PICASSO. He is a two year old Shepherd/Rottweiler mix from Northern Quebec! He just recently arrived and other than being a very quiet and super cute guy, he’s also a little nervous and taking his time to settle in. He’s never been a city-pooch so this is all new to him! “What is this thing that makes my stomach go up and down that creates all these awkward moments between you and other people?! Oh an elevator.. okay” He was recently rescued and is adjusting to not only the city but also to being in a home! It’s not just stopping at a street light or waiting in line for a Starbucks coffee, it is meeting other dogs with this rope around his neck that itches and tugs him and having a bath because it is no longer socially acceptable to smell and be covered in mud. He will need an adopter who will show him the ways of life and have him feeling confident. He’s very well-behaved but looking for guidance and support to get him to the next steps of his rescue! BISCUIT was rescued off the streets of Cancun after being hit by a car. A local found her and fortunately she wasn’t hurt! She was quickly taken in by Bundy, a volunteer at the spay/neuter clinics of Isla Animals. Bundy had Biscuit for about 3 years but is battling cancer. This is his third battle and there was a open flight escort, Bundy made the decision to send her to Canada, with better chances to find a furever home through Save Our Scruff. We hope Bundy has future success with his health and life passions. WHEN he makes it through this third battle with cancer, he will become the project manager of the spay and neuter mobile clinic for Isla Animals. He has rescued many dogs and will continue to do just that. He has a big heart and has made this decision with BISCUITS best intentions in mind. She has settled into her home and become a big couch potato. Consider being a flight escort to help more dogs find their happy endings.
