WATCH: People Not Happy With Nelly Furtado's Rendition Of 'O Canada'

One of the most talked about moments of the NBA All Star game happened before tip-off. GRAMMY award winner, Nelly Furtado blessed us with Canada’s national anthem. However, many people were not impressed with her rendition and social media got nasty!

Let’s get a few things out there:

-Nelly is a fantastic singer/performer.

-Paying tribute to First Nations is a great thing.

-She isn’t the first person to try something different with a national anthem – she won’t be the last.

It just didn’t go over as well as she may have planned. My thing with it wasn’t that it was slowed down and a different style to our anthem. My thing was, she seemed off key to start and at times singing at higher range than she needed to. Either way, she didn’t deserve the social media beating she got.
