Danielle Brooks Reveals Something About Season 5 of ‘Orange is the New Black’!

I love Netflix. I really do. But sometimes it is PAINFUL to have to wait an entire year for your favourite shows to return.

First World problems I know.

Danielle Brooks (‘Taystee’) chatted with E! News at the 2017 Screen Actors Guild Awards and revealed something very interesting about the upcoming season of the popular Netflix original.

She said, “Season 5 is done over the course of three days. You will watch 13 episodes, and find out what happens in the course of three days. So, it will be very detailed, very intense, and you better get ready. Get your popcorn, your tissues, everything. I don’t know when it’s coming out because they never tell us, but sometime in the summer.”

If you remember how Season 4 ended, we lost the beloved Samira Wiley (‘Poussey Washington’) after she was killed by one of the correctional officers (still not over it by the way).

Season 4 left off with ‘Daya’ (played by Dascha Polanco) pointing a gun at CO Humphrey while the other inmates cheered her on.

So we don’t know if she pulls the trigger, we don’t know if the inmates begin to fight back against the CO’s, but we do know that the entire season (which will be 13 episodes) will take place just over 72 hours, Litchfield time.

Brooks said she doesn’t know when Season 5 will premiere “because they never tell us,” but if it follows the scheduling pattern of previous seasons, it should be out in the summer!
